Dr. Martha Clare Morris was a pioneering epidemiologist, assistant provost for community research, and Director of the Rush Institute for Healthy Aging and the MIND Center for Brain Health at Rush University Medical Center. She led the groundbreaking collaboration between Rush and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health that resulted in the creation of the MIND Diet—a landmark contribution to the field of dementia prevention.
Her dedication to improving the lives of older adults, her visionary leadership, and her tireless commitment to scientific rigor continue to inspire researchers and clinicians across the world. As Laura’s mother and Jennifer’s colleague, her influence is personal as well as professional.

With more than 20 years of experience in the Departments of Family and Preventive Medicine and Clinical Nutrition at Rush University Medical Center, Jennifer has been a national leader in research and education on lifestyle-based brain health.
As the Lead Dietitian on the MIND Diet Trial to Prevent Alzheimer’s Disease and Co-Director of lifestyle interventions for the U.S. POINTER Study, Jennifer has shaped some of the largest U.S.-based investigations exploring how diet and behavior affect cognitive decline. She delivers clinician education, customized program development, and strategic partnerships for health systems looking to scale evidence-based MIND diet initiatives.
